Umass Amherst Transfer

I was waitlisted for the fall of 2013 but accepted for the spring of 2014. Was wondering what financial aid would be given for a student with a low EFC around 2000?

I’m a little confused. Your title asks about “transfers” but other threads indicate that you were a senior in high school in fall 2012 which means you would have graduated in June 2013. Therefore, you would be a freshman. Are you saying you matriculated to a school for the fall 2013 term and will transfer to UMass Amherst? Or will you be a first time college student in January 2014. Please clarify.

I’m editing my post…oops…I thought he was referring to Amherst College.

OK…did you, the OP, complete and submit the 2013-2014 FAFSA to UMass Amherst? If so, it would seem that you should have received a financial aid package with your acceptance. If the FAFSA has been completed, contact the college and inquire about when you can expect to receive a financial aid package so that you can make your matriculation decision.

^OP is referring to UMass Amherst, not Amherst College.

UMass does not meet full need.

Yes I did send the fafsa to them. They said I should receive my package in November. I was wondering if financial aid would be less because I was accepted in the spring as a freshman rather than the fall
