@saggygangsta I hope you are right! My daughter has decent credentials, and has applied to numerous nursing programs. She has been deffered to several, and UMass is a great option for her (both academically and financially). The Nursing program is very highly ranked and not far from home. Good luck to everyone!!
Has anyone from NYC or Long Island gotten letters yet?
@Luna52311 I’m from Long Island and didn’t here back yet. Last year it seemed like the last ones to get their decisions were the engineering majors, which I am, I’m really scared I hope I get in
Yes, we are from LI and my son heard before Christmas. He was accepted into Engineering major and Honors. Waiting to hear from other schools so I understand your anxiety. The waiting can be tough! Good luck to you.
Jesus Christ at this point I just want a letter. The anxiety is really starting to get to me and if I don’t get something I feel like I’m going to have a breakdown. I applied Early Action to the nursing program at UMASS Amherst 10/27 and seeing the words “under review” on the website still when everyone else I know have gotten acceptance letters is really starting to eat away at my confidence. I wasn’t confident in the beginning anyway but I still tried. Now all I can think is if I didn’t get in then please just put me out of my misery. God, when your future is on the line, when all your hard work can amount to nothing, it’s tough. I just needed some place to let this feeling out to people who can understand, thanks you for the outlet.
Good luck!

Great recs/ecs, good essay
what do you guys think about my CC chances?
@lola19 Quite possible, but this year seems to be especially selective for CC applicants. Your SATs seem to be on par with the average applicant, you average GPA is slightly below. This being said I guess it’s 50/50. You can also switch into the honors college at a later point and it will look just as good on your diploma.
I don’t think you can get deferred? It’s so competitive I think they either accept you into the program or your rejected
SAT1: 2150/2400, 1440/1600
SAT2: 780 Chem, 730 Math 1
GPA 3.87 uw,
Applying to Engineering, hoping for Honors College
Applied to nursing (in state).
GPA: 3.7 UW/4.38 W
Top 4% of my high school class.
ACT: 27 (Only reason why I have doubt)
I had two amazing recommendations and a really strong essay in my opinion.
I am a male going into nursing so I hope that helps me too.
Has anyone heard this week?
No. Spire hasn’t updated either
No. Haven’t heard anything either.
Spire just said under review for my application. Until then it always said comple(early action) or something. I don’t know what that’s supposed to mean.
My daughter’s Spire status has said “Under Review” since the end of November. I really have little hope that she will be accepted at this point. It would be nice to know either way.
