UMass Amherst vs. UConn Storrs

I was recently accepted to UConn Storrs for psychology and I was accepted early action for UMass Amherst psychology. I reside in Massachusetts so I am paying in state for Amherst and I would be paying out of state for UConn… I plan on visiting both colleges but I just wanted to get different POV’s from different people. Can anyone tell me anything about campus life, academics, or anything about both. If in this situation which would you choose? Both have everything that I have and I am not really worried about the funds right now.

I know that this seems like a huge decision to you, but there is very little difference between the two schools for psychology. In their grad programs, UMASS is ranked 46, and UNCONN 52 (USNWR). In terms of student life, I’ve been to both campuses, and UMASS seems more lively with the 5 college consortium and an active arts scene in Amherst/Noho. UCONN seems more low key, with a lot of student spirit around basketball. Both are great schools. I would choose the one where I could graduate with the least amount of debt.

You SHOULD be worried about the funds!
Have you talked with your parents, bill with net cost in hand?

If there’s a big difference in the cost, you should go to the one that’s cheaper. Objectively speaking, they’re comparable schools. Similar 4 year graduation rates, rankings, etc.
