UMass vs. McGill

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this,

I've been accepted to both UMass Amherst Honors College and McGill. I'm still waiting on the rest of my decisions, but I suspect that financially these will be my only two options. I have in-state tuition at UMass, and Canadian Citizen tuition at McGill.

I've heard good and bad things about both, but am leaning towards McGill at the moment, mostly because of Montreal + the greater prestige (I'm shallow, I know). My reservations about McGill include the potential lack of traditional campus life, and also the rumored difficulty of the work/grading. I'm willing to work, but have had an admittedly easy high school experience and am afraid McGill might kick my butt. Also, I don't want to be too stressed out to enjoy my college years, and I don't think I'd have that problem at UMass Honors, which I've heard is both rewarding and doable (and leaves time for fun).

If it matters, I'd be in the Arts Legacy program at McGill.

Any advice?

Mcgill ldo

McGill. UMass is a really ugly campus. My friends that go there complain that it is too out-of-control - the lack of strictly enforced rules lets everyone get away with murder and it's all too easy to drink yourself into oblivion every single night. But, I have heard great things about it from other kids.

definately McGill, not UMASS

I just found out I also got into the University of Toronto, which is another option financially. What do you think of Toronto vs. McGill?

Toronto is primarily a commuter school and will have even less of a campus life than McGill.
