UMass VS UWashington-Seattle VS Uni of Minnesota-Twin Cities

hi~members~
I REALLY need some help and it'd be very appreciated if you have any insightful information, tips and advice.
Here is my problem: I have been admitted to some schools, and I am interested in 3 of them: Umass Amherst(Honor College also, scholarship 8500 D/Y), University of Washington- Seattle and the University of Minnesota, twin cities. And I am confused which choice will be the best.

My main major of interest,to which I was admitted, is Applied Math. As I am a international student, finances and tuition fees could be one concern of mine. And you can also consider other factors such climate, position, trasportation ETC........

What school would you suggest most if you were me? I know that all three schools offer great educational quality, but i would like to know which is superior. Exceptionally, students attending any of the three universities would be helpful. But any experienced member is always welcome and appreciated to post.
THX A LOT FOR EVERY POST!!!~><

Of the three, the universities of Washington and Minnesota have the most in common; large and popular urban state universities. Many majors and programs at both. Very strong student culture and lifestyle in their respective neighborhoods. And both are notorious bureaucracies. Super large classrooms, so your undergraduate experience may not be very intimate. Good academically but not intimate. You’ll hardly know your professor or TA unless you’re assertive.

Udub–cool and rainy, UMinn very cold winter but some sun. Math majors are usually pretty small in numbers and would get more individual attention based on ability than the run of the mill history major. I think the schools are pretty equal and similar otherwise.

Oh, I forgot to add…there are hordes of Scandinavians at both UW and UMinnesota. Andersons, Jensens, Gulsvigs, Rustads, Sigurdsons, Bloomquists, and of course a Thor here and there. LOL.

And you still can find a good Swedish pancake with lingonberries in both towns. Not to mention lutefisk. Which I rather not.

THX A LOT!!!
i prefer UMass a little bit because of the Honor Program…but…to some extent…i feel pity to quit UW & UMN…so…it’s the problem…
now i think i can probably decide!~
THANK U VERY MUCH~

I agree with LakeWashington. Both UDub and UMN have great math programs.

The honors program is probably not a great reason to choose UMass over the others. But the money might be.

If money is a major concern than go to UMASS, but all things being equal - Washington and Minnesota are better schools - personally I will take Seattle rain over Twin Cities snow any day haha
