<p>Any thoughts?</p>
<p>Bump 10char…</p>
<p>I get tired of these “School#1 <major> vs School#2 <major>” threads.</major></major></p>
<p>^ ha, agreed, especially since one would expect that the college where it is posted would get answers skewed towards THAT school! That said, I believe that UMCP is generally seen as a stronger school, but doing extremely well at UMBC wouldn’t keep one out of med school contention, either. Your performance as an undergrad, and related experiences will be MUCH more important than which UM you select.</p>
<p>My neighbor did the premed route (not a premed major per se) at UMBC and is now going to be a doctor at a Yale-affiliated hospital. So it can easily work either way for you. Since UMBC is located relatively near Univeristy of MD Medical Center in Baltimore (15 /20minutes away), there may be some undergrad research/intern advantages to UMBC over UMCP. You’ll want to research that too.</p>
<p>i hear that UMBC is actually the better pre med program. I have a friend going to a honors type program at UMBC, and he’s doing premed</p>
<p>is there really premed major. it’s just a program along with another major. for med school as long as you have 3.8 gpa+30 MCAT you’re set. school doesn’t mater. pick the one you like/cheaper/closer/easier etc.</p>
