Thanks @ttb1263. My wife and I don’t have FB accounts but we may create one if it’s helpful. My daughter doesn’t want to use FB at all - and it seems like many other colleges have Discord servers for their incoming class. So was hoping UMD had one too.
According to D, “cool” kids don’t use facebook 
In addition to the Terp parent face book page, you can also sign up for Terp Family eConnection (The University of Maryland Terp Family eConnection), and get news , announcements, etc…
However, incoming students should receive email directly from UMD so, tell her to check email often, including SPAM sometimes.

I will check with my son when he gets home. He was able to find a roommate. I think thru Instagram but I’ll confirm.
He said there is a Patio app that can be found from the Maryland 2026 Student FB page. My son did create a FB account this year for this reason.
