I recently got accepted into UMDCP's Honors College and am sure I want to go but i need to express my interest in one of their living-learning programs by the 17th. I was hoping someone could help me figure out which of the programs would be best for me as an architecture student.
I am really interested in social work and just eventually being able to do some good as a professional in my career so Humanities Honors seems like it would help guide me in that aspect but I don't want to be stuck with a bunch of artists and thinkers who I can't relate with. On the other hand, my parents' favorite DCC, looks good but I'm definitely not tech-savvy in the least and I don't want to be left behind there either or feel unable to compete with all the computer whizzes I expect will be there.
If I could only be sure that DCC provides enough opportunities to explore other fields and an open-minded environment, I would definitely choose it over Humanities.
Or, if I knew I could change programs during the school year if I was absolutely miserable, that would help too.

Our S was in the HH program (2008) and loved the classes and the comraderie. He is a math and Econ Major with a minor in International Development and Conflict Management (CIDCM). The HH program will involve lots of reading and critical analysis. He made excellent friends in the program with whom he’s still very close. Think of HH as a program of great books and great ideas of civilization. If that sort of thing appeals to you, you may love HH. Both of our kids are avid readers and were quite interested in the program. Our daughter, however, really wants to study medicine eventually so is choosing the Life Science Honors program this time around.
