i was accepted into the honors program but my major is listed as letters & sciences..so i guess tht means im nt acceptd into the smith school of business?? how did i get honors if i didnt even get into smith lol??

wow that is really weird. I got smith and scholars. I heard you need atleast 650 on sat math and a solid essay for smith.

ive also heard of cases where people got into scholars and not clark engineering or even one girl who got into smith and spring semester. I guess it is just separate criteria.

they have possibly made a mistake or something…I’m a freshman in honors and didn’t declare accounting (business) until I started my first semester…Just from my experiece so far people in honors kind of get what they want as far as limited enrollment programs. Basically the business school wanted a 3.3 high school gpa and a 1300 on your sat and i dont know how you would get honors without those stats…I would let them know and if you didn’t get a 1300 for whatever reason take another shot at it…

i had 1310 combined and an uneighted gpa of 3.76, and weighted for 4.46. got scholars and smith, no honors.

qcollins - definitely could be a mistake.

Call admissions and ask.

I agree with a previous poster who said honors kids usually get their pick of LEP programs. It MAY be possible that for some reason, they felt you were a fit for honors but not for Smith (perhaps math scores were very low or something), but I find this unlikely. I think if you have the stats for honors you should have the stats to enter into the major of your choice.

Did you say that business was your intended major on your application? If so, that is weird or could be a mistake.

Last year, my son put undecided at the time he applied and was put into letter and sciences. (He was also accepted into the honors program.) When we got to accepted students day, and he learned that it is less work to get into the business school before you start your first day, he changed his application and was almost immediately accepted into Smith. You might want to see if you can do the same thing. Just contact the admissions office.
