I am having such a hard time deciding between UMD and PSU. I got into PSU fall and I am already in the school of communications. For UMD i got in for Freshman Connection but I actually like the idea of it. I think I am leaning more toward UMD but it is because I met some PSU girls and didn't love them and also I know too many people at PSU. Thoughts!?!?

My friend was in the same boat as you. She wound up choosing PSU. It is really all about where you are going to feel comfortable. Don’t make your decision bases on a few PSU girls that you met. There are 20,000+ people on psu-up campus and not all of them are like those girls. Then again, maryland is in civilization and I personally like the fact that it is a 5 minute metro ride in to DC. Personally I dont like the idea of freshman connection, but then again if that’s what you want by all means do it. ANNNDDDD they just finished building new off campus housing for your first semester.

Penn State School of Communications has AMAZING alumni connections in NYC; nuf’ said…

and you should change your screen name…if it is a combination of your real name…!!

thanks for the responses. of course i wouldnt make my decision based on the girls i guess since i was totally undecided it made me lean more toward one side. what do you think are the downsides to freshman connection

ahhh thats a hard one!!!

maryland seems awesome, definitely don’t base it on the girls you met but if you love maryland and aren’t having doubts about it and thats what your hearts telling you, then I think you should do it. You’re going to have a great time at both, as I’m sure you know. however the whole alumni thing is cool at psu…

ahh you do need help… anyone else respond… i feel bad im adding nothing :(

Personally I like UMD more than PSU and think that it is a better school. If you do end up going to Penn State do not say no to UMD for spring semester. I had a friend who got spring 2011 as a freshmen and she ended up going to JMU. She didn’t like it there and went to UMD for spring and is loving it.
