My son was offered admission to UMD college park and virginia tech for the fall semester. now we are torn between the two good universities. He is interested in aerospace engineering. I would really appreciate suggestions and views on the same.
Both excellent universities for engineering. For aerospace in particular, I would give the edge to UMD. They are the only campus to have a neutral buoyancy tank on site, which allows them to simulate space conditions. NASA Goddard is 15 minutes away in Greenbelt, and NASA utilizes UMD’s neutral buoyancy facility, so there is a strong connection. UMD is consistently ranked in top 10 for Aerospace.
UMD! My friend is doing aerospace and loves it there.
UMD
Are you OOS for both? Is cost a factor?
Yes I am OOS for both, so cost is not a factor.
the only concern is the educational enviornment.
I really appreciate all your suggestions and they are a blessing for the confused soul. Its tough choosing one over the other. He wants to go to a college that has very good hands on learning and practical studies programs.
