My boyfriend has a pretty low GPA but a 34 ACT, is an IB candidate (like myself) and he got rejected. The only difference in our stats is his UW is a 3.1 and mines a 3.15. Nobody in my school who is an IB kid gets rejected. Nobody.
@androidfan Definitely! You’ll just take the introductory classes and apply sophomore year!
Got an email that I was accepted to honors college @tlf123098 If you applied before a certain date you were automatically considered. Does anyone know when merit scholarship stuff is announced?
Rejected…GPA 3.85 and SAT 1900…never had the housing link
Happy to say I’m in I don’t see anything about honors or scholars either where would it say that?
Spring semester. Applied LEP Criminology. OOS
Was surprised to be accepted, but hey not complaining! 1850 sat superscore (not sure if they superscore or not) and 3.8 gpa. Letters and Science
CAN ANYONE ANSWER WHERE YOU SEE HONORS!
The kid wants me to post her acceptance and stats here.
4.0UW, 2250, in-state. Accepted, Honors.
Congrats to all.
@rockinman1 they say it in the acceptance letter. There were different acceptance letters
@rockinman1 It says in the first sign of the acceptance letter
Thank you @Vctory YAY I’m in and honors!!!
Does being accepted with College Park Scholars signify any merit aid?
@rockinman1 - If your acceptance letter says LETTERS AND SCIENCES, it does mean that you were not accepted into the engineering school; however, it’s really not that big of a deal. My son applied last year as undecided, so he was automatically placed in LETTERS AND SCIENCES until he could figure out what he wanted to do. During first semester, he decided that he wanted to apply to the engineering school. As long as you take the necessary gateway courses (and a lot of them can be covered by AP credit) and get an acceptable grade, you will be admitted to Clark. My son applied to Clark as soon as first semester was over and was admitted a couple of weeks later. He’s now in his 2nd semester at MD as an engineering major.
Somebody asked about the business school - that is a different matter. Internal applicants must complete the necessary course and then compete for a spot in the school. It’s not automatic upon completion of the requirements like Clark is.
And finally, yes you can fill out the housing application now. We filled out our son’s as soon as he got in. If for some reason you decide not to attend MD, you just need to withdraw your housing application before July (I think).
But my letter didn’t say anything about scholarships. Did anyone get letters about scholarshipS?
Can someone explain the APP/STP program? The paper is a little confusing
@spidermom03 what does it mean if you were admitted to college of computer, math, and natural sci? How does that differ from letters and sciences? Is it a lesser program?
I am not home to check but have access to my email and I didn’t get an email. Anyone else that didn’t get an email?
@college67, I didn’t get any email. I went to the portal to check.
@luv2sk8 - the website says we find out about scholarship in march/april
if it doesn’t say anything about honors/scholars on your acceptance letter, does this hurt your chances for receiving merit based aid?
