UMD PRIORITY DECISION CLASS OF 2019

r1111j I haven’t heard of students being ruled out for scholarships because they said yes early, But perhaps @maryversity can weigh in on this. That said, the email for Banneker-Key came out on February 10th last year. So if you’re concerned, you could always decide to wait until after that date to commit.

@r111j, I’m sure you must’ve applied to other schools and presumably are waiting to hear about possible awards from those schools as well. I think it makes sense to wait until mid-to-late April to make your final decision, when you have all the pertinent information and can weigh the costs and benefits with full knowledge (looking back, I see that the B-K letter was dated March 25th and an unexpectedly generous departmental scholarship letter was sent 2 days after that – so definitely for us it was worth it to wait until we knew what the full story was).

Still haven’t received the acceptance packet here in MA.
r111j - you?

s just received the president scholarship (in letter) before accept admin.

eyy president’s scholarship! from cali

you are going to have to apply as a sophomore most likely and complete the “gateway” requirements first. You are also not 100% guaranteed into the business school now.

I’m beginning to get very nervous as the decision date approaches. My academic standing is great, W 4.25 GPA, Multiple AP’s, dual enrollment college courses and stellar extracurricular but my test scores do not represent this. 1100 out 1600 SAT and 25 on ACT. Will this bring me down drastically?

wrong thread! Look for class of 2020!

My son received conditional acceptance as long as he completes what UMD requires he is in there!! Thats if he does not get into USNA!

@bma723 What ACT score and GPA is typically needed to get into the Honors or Scholars program at UMD?
