UMD PRIORITY DECISION CLASS OF 2019

WOW I just checked the thread for the first time since i posted it…I did not expect this many views/replies! Thanks for your help everyone!

And you are the 100th post! Woohoo

Just wondering what everyone else’s gpa and standardized test scores look like? My GPA is a 3.75 and my ACT is 29 fingers crossed I did good enough to get In ! Good luck to everyone else!

@Adominic8, my ACT is a 32 and I have 3.95 uw. Best of luck to everyone applying!!

31 ACT, 4.0 GPA

My wonderful self had family/personal/geographic issues (I went to two schools and lived in 5 different places and 2 diff states spanning my freshman and sophomore year), and so I have a 3.23 unweighted, 3.75 weighted, and a 1300/2020/29! Junior year I had ~4.2 weighted tho, so hopefully admissions will see I have an upward trend! If I get in I will most likely get spring semester :frowning: but that would still be great, umd is my top!

3.76 UW GPA and a 1420 SAT superscore. @Adominic8, your stats are solid, definitely good enough imo!!

Most people who have asked have pretty good chances I think

@roasted36‌ similar situation but i moved over the course of all of my schooling 2 schools in elementary Nigeria and America) 2 schools in middle (both in Nigeria) and 2 schools in high school (Nigeria and America) i have a 3.71 unweighted i don’t know my weighted and an 1850/1270 CR+M on the SAT but i took it again but it was too late for priority 1970/1370 CR+M. All the best to you!!

@Noogler‌ yeah, I hope admissions is lenient! You shouldn’t have anything to worry about with a 3.71 though. Good luck!

do you guys think they would rescind admission if i got a C in 1 class? After getting straight As all years?

@Prodigee‌ im guessing that’s AP Literature but as long as you don’t monumentally mess-up ( for example fail the 2 most important classes English and Math) then your probably fine although take this with a grain of salt; this is from a secondary source thatheard it from their counselor.

@Noogler‌ its not AP, just honors. And alright. Ive heard only D’s and F’s catch colleges’ eyes.

On my application page, i noticed that the 2 names of counselor and teacher i provided says “Not received” next it for recommendations. However, under the bolded title “other supporting documents”, counselor recommendation and teacher is received. Anyone else have this? I think its bc i sent from Naviance…?

Called admissions about that back in November @prodigee and it is because of Naviance. They most likely received your recommendations.

@Scuderi‌ alright thanks!

@Prodigee they follow a more lenient policy than William and Mary, and last year W&M sent admitted students a letter saying something like: “You can’t spell Calculus without 2 C’s!” One or two C’s, you’re fine. More, they might take you out of honors/scholars. A few D’s and F’s…you’re at risk.

Also, same thing happened with me last year re: letter of rec. They still got it! You’ll be fine.

A reference to the letter that vctory was reffering to. Most colleges aren’t out to get you

@Scuderi‌ haha nope
