Looking for anyone “in the know”. It seems all EA decisions are released simultaneously. Does anyone know if that is the case for RD as well, or if those decisions are rolling? Thanks for any advice.
Based on the old threads from previous years, RD decisions are release simultaneously too.
BTW, a few people on this forum said about 90% of the incoming freshman class is accepted from EA applicants, is it really true? Does it mean the RD acceptance rate is very low, e.g. no more than 10%
@ywusa2001 - It seems to be true that a majority of the freshman class comes from the EA applicants, but UMD does not report the numbers of EA vs RD applicants.
The consensus on here may be due to EA applicants submitting enrollment deposits well before the May 1 deadline.
Last year, UMD had 33.085 applications. 14,652 were offered admission and 4,286 enrolled.
@ywusa2001 Yes it’s true. One of the UMD admissions ppl came to our school and made it very clear that it is MUCH harder to get into UMD regular decision that early action
Thank you @SoofDad @ccorley23
When does UMD email the details for the application portal?
UMD does not have an application portal. They only use the Coalition portal
Also, are LEPs mostly filled by early action applicants?
It appears that way.
My “Checklist” tab disappeared on Coalition, what could this mean?
Has anyone heard anything from the University of Maryland yet, it’s March 16 and I’m still waiting?

My son applied regular decision, submitted his application on January 13th and literally just received his acceptance one hour ago. I assuming more will receive their responses today and in the coming days. April 1st is the deadline. Good luck to all!
Accepted!!!
I got in!!
