UMD Transfer 2016 Fall

Ughhhh I can’t wait anymore lol it’s driving me insane

same here! i just want to know already!

does anyone know when we would know if we got scholarships or financial aid, if we were accepted?

You would know like 1-2 weeks after your accepted because you have like 30 days to confirm your enrollment

lets post our stats here and see what we can find out about each other

The financial aid website says transfer awards are given out on April 1, which doesn’t make sense

maybe april 1st was for freshman? i tried their financial aid website, but since i wasnt an admitted student, i couldnt make a username. i guess we’ll just have to wait until next week for everything.

Current second semester freshman at Alabama State University.
GPA 3.4 first semester 15 credits completed
Working on 15 more this semester with a current 3.8 GPA
Pre-med Bio major but I might switch to Pre-med Public Health if UMD accepts me
HS stats were average.
I’m also a Maryland resident.
Biggest worry is if my credits will transfer or not.

-Applied for priority deadline (March 1st.)
-2nd year at Prince George’s CC (Maryland)
-Have completed 49 credits, will have 55 at the end of this semester.
-Cumulative GPA: 3.1
-Finance major, but also leaning towards Economics
-Not the best stats in high school. However, I graduated from the “Academy of Finance” in high school.
-Maryland resident

Can anyone tell my chances of getting into UMD?

Oh! I also submitted 2 recommendation letters. One from my accounting professor, and the other one from a guidance counselor.

-Applied for priority decision
-1st year at Montgomery college, part of mtap program
-earned 15 credits but will earn 31 by may, maybe 39 by the time fall semester begins
-Cumulative gpa: 3.2
-Computer Science major (not an LEP)

  • Grades in high school were not good at all
    -maryland resident
  • joined a lot of clubs at my community college, and 2 letters of recommendation from the head of the math department at MC, and my comm professor who actually used to teach at UMD

my sat score was trash too

I submitted 2 letters of rec and I said they both for online, however only one submitted it online and the other did it offline…it says they recorded an official recommendation letter so I guess my teacher did it offline. Hopefully won’t cause confusion

I feel like it will definitely be harder for me to get in because I didn’t go to community college in Maryland, or better yet any college in Maryland.

@c0zykc the admissions rep I talked to said being out of state isn’t a disadvantage

Can anyone look at my stats and give me an idea about my chances of getting into Maryland?

@Rluna25520 you’ll get in, you have over 30 credits so they won’t look at your high school transcript, if your in Mtap, your promised admission but if you’re not then you’ll still likely get in

Hey can anybody tell me my chances at getting into Maryland? I posted my stats yesterday but nobody responded :frowning:

I’m referring to the transferable credits part. Not knowing how many will really transfer. That’s a disadvantage of being out of state lol @emily2636

Well no decisions this week… so we can safely confirm that decisions will definitely come out next week. Good luck to everyone!
