UMD Transfer Fall 2015

Darn all of you and your on-time acceptance letters lol jk good job everyone

Did you guys respond to admission yet? I clicked the yes I will be attending UMD and hit submit. Is that it? I thought we had to pay a $400 dollar deposit.

It says the confirmation of your enrollment will take up to 48 hours to appear, so it might take a couple days to show a link to pay the deposit.

I just paid the deposit. The confirmation form says that it’ll take you to separate page to pay the deposit after you submit and that you should click submit after you are really ready to pay the deposit since you’ll not have a chance to come back and pay the deposit. I have no idea why it didn’t take you to the page for payment. Maybe your browser blocking pop-up was the reason?

I thought I did it wrong! lol. I am so excited. I am pretty much on cloud nine. Here is my background.

This year will be my 10 year high school reunion, so I took a long break between high school and college. I have a little girl. She is my reason for going back to school.

Econ major
3.6 GPA
I never took my SAT’s so I can’t give you that info
Very involved with extracurricular activities in my school

This is literally a dream come true! I could not be happier!

My confirmation form doesn’t mention going to the deposit page at all, and when I click the “submit your nonrefundable $400 deposit” link on the admitted transfer students page on the admissions site, it leads me to an error message. I guess I’ll have to try tomorrow.

I’m trying to pay it soon because I want to attend the first open house

Accepted in to Letters and Sciences w/ 3.8 GPA OOS. Waiting until final grades to get accepted into Smith. Hope this helps anybody applying now or in the near future. Congratulations to all that got accepted and good luck to all!

Got the acceptance letter!! Congrats everyone! I applied to the Smith School but wanted to if there a separate acceptance to a lep program. The letter just says I got accepted into the University and then lists my residency, major and the business school at the bottom. Does anyone know how this works?

I got accepted!!! I got into Letters&sciences. I have to send my final grades to be considered for the major that I want. I’m so happy!

@boro11 You got into the smith school if it says it on the bottom of your acceptance letter. Also, was anyone able to pay the 400 dollars besides the one guy who said he did.

Accepted into COLLEGE OF COMPUTER, MATH & NATURAL SCI
Major: Physics
Community College student
Maryland resident
White/Male
GPA: 3.61
Credits: 49 (will get AA with 60 credits by end of semester)
Letter of recommendations: didn’t send any in
Personal essay: strong
Standardized tests: didn’t submit any
High school: home schooled
Not in honors program at community college and wasn’t in Phi Theta Kappa at the time I applied (am now but didn’t have it on application). I did take 3 honors classes with Bs in all of them.

Other info:
I’ve taken few classes that relate to my intended major and got Bs in all my math courses. I didn’t even take any sciences until this semester (which I’m excelling in, but they don’t know that). My transcripts on their own indicated much more of an interest in Social Science and the Humanities than natural science. I was somewhat worried that they’d question my commitment and only accept me into Letter’s and Sciences for these reasons.

I had no issues paying the $400 deposit.

I’m going to call the school tomorrow. You guys have no idea how frustrating this is. I don’t understand why my decision is not ready

Sorry about that ): Hope everything works out for you!

Gonna post my stats just in case you guys notice something or some reason why I have not recieved a decision

AACC- 37 credits
GPA- 3.8

Sent in great rec letter, the other rec provider was not able to write a letter due to a multiple personal matters popping up
Did not submit high school transcript or SAT scores
Kinesiology major
Submitted application 2/27

I don’t mean to spam the forum but this is just so unbelievably frustrating!

Thank you, that means a lot @kmartin3

I honestly can’t see a problem with your application unless all the recs were /necessary/? Definitely worth a call.

@malva27x Last time I applied that happened to me. Calling doesn’t help because they just end up giving you someone’s email instead so Ill save you the call. You should instead email Keisha Bates at kbates2@umd.edu She is the head of the transfer department and extremely helpful! Good luck! I hope you can still get in! Keep your head up!

did you send everything in on time malva?
