UMD Transfer Spring 2016

Is there a group for us to find roommates? It seems like we will have to be living off-campus…

I only have a 3.2 GPA I have to step it up because Fall is competitive, you guys have a better advantage because its spring.

3.4 gpa, 1 recommendation, intern for lawyer (not even remotely interested in law but it looks good on paper)

@transfchick95 that is so funny because I have stuff totally unrelated to major just to look nice, do you have any other EC’s that you’ve listed?

Hello, I got accepted into UMD for the Spring of 2016 too! I was admitted into the Letters & Sciences major although I applied for Business. I recently spoke with a rep from UMD at my community college’s transfer fair and he said that no transfer student is directly admitted into the Business program. He also said that once we’re admitted to the college as an L&S major, the business committee will then review the business applicants in November and we will get a notification then with our Business program decision. Does anyone know anything about this??

Hi guys, I am an international transfer student from Malaysia and I have applied to transfer to either Sophomore or Junior Year, it depends because I have about 60 credit hours but some of them aren’t transferrable. I am applying to the A. James Clark School of Engineering for computer engineering.

So far, I have not received my decision, despite having sent out my application before August 1st. According to the Admissions office, everyone should have received their decisions by Friday (17 Oct) but still no word. My guess is that they may take a while longer to process my documents since they need to evaluate the courses provided by my previous local institution? Has anyone still not received their decisions as of now yet?

@dreamadream I babysit/tutor and listed the parents as points of reference.

@projectxenix There’s no harm in calling under grad admissions; just make sure you insist on talking to a representative and not a student who answers the phone (bc they don’t know much tbh).

Are there any female transfers here who are looking for a roommate? I’d love to live on-campus if possible, but if off-campus is fine too. Let me know!

I got into letters & science I applied for LEP criminal justice but want to change my major to business …
and i want to do on campus housing so I’m looking for a roommate!

@projectxenix I have not yet received my decision yet. But, I had a separate mix up with my transcript. I would contact them as soon as possible if I were you.

@jessicajpl what’s your stats???

@dreamadream stats as in? I have a 3.8 gpa and I’m transferring with an associates in criminal justice

@jessicajpl Ugh I have to get an A in every class from now on to get that GPA.

Hello Guys,
For those who decision was postponed until 2 weeks. The decision just came out at around 4:45pm. I got in! Finally a official Terp!!!

And for anyone who may be reading this for future application. The housing link which releases one day before is a good indiction if you got in.

Actually, I only got my housing link a few hours before my decision released today. I surprisingly got accepted with relatively low stats… I was in MTAP and got in with less than 30 credits at the time of application and a 3.1 GPA (I believe)

Hi guys, I just got in! I’m an international transfer student by the way, and I hear UMD doesn’t accept many international students, so it’s an honor. I have applied for 3 other universities, and one of them is U of Michigan, Ann Arbor. I want to wait for their decision first, but those only come out in December while my deadline is Nov 30. Is it possible if I book my spot by accepting first but then choose another university?

Do any of you guys know how to register/get a registration date?

@NUMDG18 orientation dates are up on the orientation site starting today. It looks like there’s an orientation session a week every week from Dec 4th until Jan 20th.

I sent in my app a few weeks ago…waiting until December may actually kill me. I’m a first semester freshman so I have no official GPA yet, and I’m trying so hard in calc but failing just as hard :frowning: I’m terrified, hope I get in!
