<p>My sister's trying to decide between these two schools, and she's really torn.</p>
<p>She has a slight preference for UMD (good sciences program, the scholars program, gorgeous campus, and lots of diversity in its student body), though she also likes aspects of AU (smaller school, more attention, focus on internships, nice facilities and resources). </p>
<p>If they cost the same, I think she'd go with UMD because they seem to devote more resources to the sciences, though she also has an interest in other things too. But she'd be considered OOS at UMD, and in the end, given AU's financial aid package, it would be about $10K+ cheaper for her to attend AU.</p>
<p>Is UMD worth the extra money she'd be paying to attend? Any thoughts on this would be really appreciated.</p>
