Accepted with $17k/yr scholarship. Finance major. 1500 & 3.96 UW. Strong EC’s.
Accepted in state financial aid package is $34,000 total with $25 presidential and the rest from the state of Florida. Possible will get more from the state for being a national merit finalist, total scholarship could end up being $53,800 if I have the national merit Benaquisto award figured out correctly.
SAT 1550, GPA 4.75

I think the 49K number includes all applications not just EA…they did 42K last year and increase is reasonable.

there were 42,000 apps last year (fall 2021) and around 37/39,000 in 2020…but its a pretty small class so these are really high

Daughter finally home and accepted to Biomedical Eng premed concentration with Presidential Scholarship…and for next year’s applicants she was able to change her major throughout the process…

Son accepted into Frost Music Industry. Foote Honors but no $
Son accepted to Frost for jazz piano. 1520 SAT, 4.0 GPA. Frost said it gives scholarships at later date—not at time of acceptance.

S22 accepted for engineering, 33 ACT, 4.3+ GPA, 4/5 on AP’s, top 1% of class. $25K scholarship but the only way he was attending was by getting one of the premier scholarships so it’s likely a no-go, unfortunately.

“While UM is interested in students who show interest in the school, the do not currently track demonstrated interest . The admissions office distinguishes between “demonstrated interest” and “affinity.” They are looking for the latter, which means showing why you are a good fit for the school.” (which is likely through the application process)

I did hear them say during the audition that Frost awards merit $ later. Just wasn’t sure if that was in addition to other UM merit scholarships that might be awarded now, or in a separate combined package later. They were vague about it.
