Does anyone have any insight or experience with pre-med at either Baylor or Miami? I am wondering which one better prepares students for medical school, how difficult it is to maintain a high gpa, opportunities for shadowing, opportunities for research, or just overall experience for premeds specifically. Thanks. (Cost does not matter since i got similar scholarships at each)

No personal experience, but both are well respected schools which place students every year in medical school. And both have medical schools and are research universities, so there should be opportunities for shadowing, research, etc.
Google baylor pre-health and miami pre-health to see what their pre-health services are.
And a question: in what state are you a resident? I ask b/c I believe both Baylor and Miami medical schools give preference to in-state residents.
@oldlaw I am from Maryland, so out of state for both.
My D is a Health Science major at Baylor taking the pre-med curriculum. It is definitely challenging, but she is a first semester junior and still has a 3.89 GPA.
I will say, their pre-med advising has been very good and they have a high placement rate into med school.
She shadowed over the summer when she came home (we live in Massachusetts) so we worked that out here.
I can’t speak to Miami other than to say it is an excellent school. Why don’t you try a thread on the Miami specific link under colleges and universities? Maybe you could find someone there who may have experience with pre-med.
Good luck to you wherever you end up!
