UMiami vs Boston College

Ok, so I am going into business and I have been trying to decide between BC and UMiami (FL). BC's business school is ranked higher and is closer to home. Meanwhile, UMiami is ranked lower (but still good) and I think there is more things to do on campus there.

Does anyone know somebody that attends the business school of Miami or BC? How do they like it?

Anyone???

Think about where you think you are more likely to want to start your career after college. Both schools will probably have more on campus recruiting and stronger alumni networks in their respective regions.

Unsure,

What type of specialization are you looking at majoring in? Entrepreneurship? Finance? Management?

Personal preference, BC hands down, but that is me.

personally i think bc is better hands down.

I’m looking towards finance and management (possibly a double major)

cltdad was on the right track, do you want to work in Boston or the South Florida areas? UMiami has some significant opportunities in Finance such as the Bermont Carlin Scholars Program.
[Bermont/Carlin Scholars Program : University of Miami School of Business](http://www.bus.miami.edu/undergraduate-programs/special-programs/bermont-carlin/)

BC is closer to some of the traditional bastions of business, Boston and New York. Boston is home to many start up, and well established, companies. New York has Wall Street, etc. The ease of access to these two cities give BC students, compared to UMiami students, better opportunities to network. I’m a BC student in the Carroll School of Management, and there are always companies holding events on campus, or in Boston/NYC, that students have either the chance to visit or talk with.

I think overall though, you will need to consider climate and lifestyle. Boston and Miami are two very different places to live.
