my dream skool... 7year HPME is hard as hell tho
did anyone else here apply?
does any1 kno about competitiveness for "out-of-staters"...

coconut grove/south beach... it doesn't get any friggin better

I applied. I want to get an interview there so baaaad. Hopefully, one in like mid February when its freezing here.

I applied, but i seriously doubt i will get in. I gotta agree though, that would be a dream come true if I got in.

I was told that about 220 applied this year (down from last year's 300, based on new criteria). Also, I was told that we should hear by the end of January, and that approx. 130 will be offered interviews in February. From that group, about 20 acceptances will go out for the program.

i read somewhere that they were expanding the amounts of students they accept. I still dont know how many students that is though.

my cousin who got in last year said its toough for out of stater's but she got in somehow

What were her stats?

my cousin from FL got in last year too. He said it's tougher for out-of-state, but it should be easier this year because its 7-year, not 6-year.

he had 1500 SAT (idk the breakdown, it was pretty much even), NHS President, graduated from IB school (with IB diploma), got 5's in 5 AP classes junior year, probably in top 5% of class, and some volunteer work.

umm around liek 1460/1480 - 1510 if taken from different seatings; perrfect academic record, bunchload of AP courses all A's; had science fair recognition like won 5,000 dollars or so; varsity tennis thats all i can think of

UM is my first choice med program. I got an interview for RPI/AMC which is next week. Haven't heard anything from Lehigh yet either though. Anybody know how UM rates in difficulty to get into compared to the other programs? I am a new yorker, will that hurt me a lot? There is not much info online, so lets post what we know about it. I can't find much anymore. I know a lot of people do not like this med program for its reputation, but to me it looks like it's rep is great! Anyway, I have a 1450 SAT. SAT II's : Bio 700 , Chem 720, Writing 740, and Math I 670. Let me know what you think. SO when do we hear from them? Who else is applying? Thanks sssssssoooooooooo much!!!!!!!!

Has anyone gotten a letter yet? When are the interviews?

do they want midyear reports?

anyone heard yet?

hey, i got my admission letter to the school finally! I got the Bowman Foster Ashe Scholarship (3/4 tuition)! Im still waiting on word from the med school however.

Rehan, I also applied to the honors program in medicine. I am also hoping for the Bowman Foster Ashe scholarship? Where do you go to HS? What were your stats? I would be glad to email you! Thanks so much.

I go to school in Homewood-Flossmoor High School (Chicago suburbs). I have a 32 ACT and 1430 SAT (690 V, 740 M). MY SAT 2s are: 760 math 2c, 750 writing, 710 chem. I had a 4.0 GPA with the toughest curriculum and was ranked 3/678 at the time I applied. You seem similar to me, so I feel that you have a good shot at Bowman Foster Ashe. Im not sure how big a role extracurriculars play, but I had a lot of leadership positions. Also, my recs were amazing.

Hey Rehan. Thanks for the quick response. I would really love to chat with you in private. My aim name is dsg791. If you let me know your email adress we can talk there as well. Do you think that you would go to UM even if you don't get into the program?

The suspense is killing me!!

I agree! Do you think we'll get a letter either way?
Do you still think the interviews will be in Feb?

I GOT AN INTERVIEW!! heres the dates of interview: feb 10,15,17,22,24, u can do it either in the morning (9-12noon) or afternoon (1-4pm).....the interview itself is 30 minutes long according to maria fallon
