When did deferred/postponed applicants find out decision last year? Did they all have to wait until April?
This has been answered by @sushiritto a few times upthread. Example:
So we should lookout for mid February to start seeing decisions?
I tried to reply to your link, but itâs not allowing. Also it says it will be automatically deleted in 7 days. Wonder why?
And we signed up for 3.19.22.
The admin, skieurope, merged it into this thread.
@skieurope I think they are trying to have a separate thread for students interested in Ross opposed to this mega thread. Can they keep that thread separate please?
Traditionally, the CC off-shoot threads from the âmainâ 202x EA thread, like the 202x Postponed, 202x Results Only or 202x Ross threads donât get much traction from applicants.
That would be my guess.
The Ross dates are Feb. 18. March 18, April 15. In previous years, decisions for deferred would be released the same day. Right, @sushiritto? My dc thinks it is because they evaluate batches of candidates with Ross dates in mind.
See below
While true that these splinter threads get little traction, that was not why I merged. A standalone 2026 thread should be inclusive and invite participation from all, i.e. âHi all, I didnât see a thread for Ross CO 2026 so I decided to make one. Feel free to post anything about Ross here.â
A 202x thread that is started and is specific to the OP is not going to get the broader participation they were envisioning.
If one wants to start a 2026 Ross thread along the lines of the first paragraph, they are welcome to do so.
Got it. I can start a new one then with appropriate content?
Yes, there is lunch included. Campus day tours. https://admissions.umich.edu/campus-day-2022?fbclid=IwAR2ZtVOTMyP1YStYrBKht2jD65phIRG_zSvtFAIvPTF9mbDMPJL1db9nFhA
Be my guest
I called on Monday at 9:05 am to ask this exact question regarding when financial aid decisions would be released. The rep was extremely nice and said theyâre aiming to get them out in the next week or two. Also, engineering merit scholarships likely will not go out until the beginning of April.
I believe the info will go to the portal, but I didnât specifically ask.
Is this tour only for admitted students?
Me, too! Aw, I liked Cathy:)
Yes. Regular tours are here. Visit Campus | University of Michigan Office of Undergraduate Admissions
One more time.
Class of 2025: One RD wave early in March (Friday 5th) and another RD wave in late March (Friday 26th),
Class of 2024: Followed Ross BBA dates, 1/31, 2/28 and 3/27, which were typical RD wave type dates,
Pre-pandemic: On or around Fridayâs that were close to 2/1, 3/1 and 4/1.
Someone heard from admissions that there may just be one wave, in April, which I kinda doubt.
Yes, I agree, but what a strange year so far. I thought last year was strange for D21.
Fingers crossed for February 18! Iâm hoping the majority of acceptances for people who got in early will find out then. If you do start another thread then posting it in here again would be very appreciated.
The things that stand out to me this year (my 1st) coming from NYC where kids from the top schools want the same schools.
- what were once likelies/safeties EA are deferring middle of the road applicants who got in previous years. Schools like Maryland, Wisco, Northeastern.
- colleges a little higher up that get huge volume from various schools are deferring top candidates. Michigan, etc. because they know that these candidates are Ivy hopefuls.
- colleges that want more girls are giving more offers to girls and same for boys, URMs, FGLI or whatever the colleges deem they need . Kids who fit those categories did well at MIT this year from our school, for example.
- aside from Harvard which still gives legacies a huge boost, Penn/Stanford do not seem to. I donât know too many Yale/Princeton legacies.
Our dc was very lucky, but we also got very comfortable with dc going to IU Kelley.
did you recently get accepted or was this from the jan 29th date?
