There’s really no choice to make here unless you hate snow. Michigan is by far the most well respected overall on this list, and the recruiters flock there just as they do the Ivies. Social life is fabulous, Ann Arbor is incredible and football, even in down years, is the experience of a lifetime. The Adian and Indian population is high, meaning not only could you feel at home if that’s who you choose to hang out with, but alum networking amongst UM Indian and Asian nationals is terrific. (Can’t tell which you are). Go Blue!

Michigan is very diverse and it has a place for everybody. You will have fun and the engineering school will not disappoint. That being said, there are two things about Michigan that you have to realize: 1) It’s a huge school 2) The weather can be a downer if you aren’t from the area.

Also, take into account that UMich is in Ann Arbor, an amazing college town, while GT is in Atlanta. The best way to decide where to go is to see where you get in, then visit if you can afford it. You should consider waiting for your other decisions before committing.

@i012575 i know its iffy … even UMich was a huge surprise to me. I posted this thread to ask whether or not i should confirm umich right now and pull back other applications. because it doesn’t make sense not pulling back other apps if I’m decided on UMich.

@i02575 I’ll probably wait for only GTech … From what people have posted, it seems lil thats the only college on the list that matches to umich …

@jhs2419 i have visited both colleges !

@ss124081 then if you get into both UM and GT, go where you can imagine yourself being happy living for 4 years. The schools are very similar in their rankings, so your choice should be based solely on that.

Then i think UMich would be the winner
@jhs2419

How would UMich compare to UT ausitn for aerospace ?? again, disregarding the weather and cost, and keeping mind overall strength of the school … @rjkofnovi @jhs2419

Michigan is marginally better than Texas in AE, and overall. But Texas is no slouch and Austin is an awesome college town. Between those two, I usually recommend going for fit.

Another thing to consider: are you liberal or conservative? If liberal, I’d go with UMich, but if you’re conservative I’d go with GA Tech.

Im not conservative neither am i very liberal.
Im sort of in the middle, tending towards the liberal side ! @HumNation

@ss124081 At this point I would just go with Michigan then

Yeah i think i would fit better at UMich Thanks ! @HumNation
