I know this isn't a great way to start my first post, but UM is driving me nuts with this! Reading recent threads about acceptance infos, it looks like as of 1/22/07 (the date of this writing), they've finished up to the December 10th apps.

I applied November 14th, and finished all the materials on December 5th. I've been a Michigan resident for 10yrs, but UM decided to give me out of state residency (my parents are clearing it up). Do you think I've been denied/deferred since people applying December 10th have received their decisions already???

stats:
asian male
2030 SAT: 710M, 670W, 650C
29 ACT
3.8 UM GPA
half my classes are AP's and AC's.

Personally, I think you will get in. Don't try to worry that much. I'm in the same situation as you except I applied later, am OOS, and have lower standardized test scores than you. I have a good GPA though. Good Luck!

You'll make it. My friend who applied around when you did JUST got her decision yesterday. You have a lower GPA by like .05, but you're taking harder classes. She's in-state as well. Asian.

umm... i think you're fine. i applied 10/24, completed 11/14, and still no answer. i called the office to make sure everything was actually in and someone said they just haven't made a decision yet. i guess no decision at this point is better than a bad one!
besides, not everyone who is waiting for decision is on this forum or is posting that they are still waiting. im sure there are lots out there that aren't even registered for this site, but just read the forum. i used to do that.
and besides, maybe the whole issue with in state/ OOS is slowing your process even more...??

I applied 11/29 and it was complete pretty quickly, on 12/8. I have yet to receive any decision. They said it takes 12-14 weeks, but I really don't want to wait another 2 months.

My daughter applied first week of Nov., got admitted Dec. 15th and recd. Regents scholarship Dec. 21st.
You have a great chance of making it. I heard they stopped processing applications for a while and have restarted Jan. 10th or something.

thanks for your reply guys! They were helpful and gave me alot of insight to the college application process. It's now 1/28/07 and I still haven't got my decision... Most people who posted on the acceptance thread already got in having turned their apps in (in some cases, two weeks or more) after I did.

Mine was completed on the 5th of December, 2006. Does that mean I've been deferred or rejected? :(

if you guys know, when do they usually update WA? Does the UM admissions office review apps during the weekends? I'm checking WA frantically and it's driving me mad!

If nothing has changed via WA and/or you haven't received any notices via snail mail, then that means that haven't made a decision yet...so keep waiting :(

And there is no exact time UM updates WA, so just keep checking

Hi. Mine was completed 12/8 and I haven't gotten any decision online or in the mail. I guess I'm in the same situation that you are in...and yes, I keep checking W.A. frantically as well.

Someone I knew last year applied in early November (possibly earlier) from in-state, and didn't get her decision until late March/early April...but she was accepted. The moral? Each case is different, it's not that you've been deferred. Different groups finish at different times, for instance. Just try to relax (I'm trying to!) and forget about it for a few weeks.

My d's app was complete 11/9 and she just heard this week so it's not time to worry yet!!
Just get the OOS thing sorted out.
Her WA status changed on a Thursday afternoon here in China which means it was posted after midnight on a Wednesday in the US. Then she got the email on Friday.
