On Michigan’s Academic common app question, they ask what your areas of interest(s) are, and I put mechanical engineering and nuclear engineering. I feel very dumb about putting nuclear engineering and should’ve put electrical engineering with mechanical. I got deferred by Michigan for EA and I’m worried that if I get in, I would get nuclear engineering instead of mechanical engineering. Does Michigan admit you directly into your intended major or do they do it like Purdue where you do FYE freshman year?
I think u just get admitted to the engineering school and u don’t declare you major until after you enroll
@Eeeee127 that is true, but you still put what major you intend to study
It’s not a big deal. Students change majors all the time. As long as it wasn’t a mistake like putting electrical engineering when you meant psychology (difference in CoE to LSA), it won’t be a big deal. Just make your academic advisor aware if/when you are accepted.
