Ummmm...A friend of mine has his rejection decision online. Does what you just posted come from an official source?

There's no official source for this I believe, but it's generally accepted that when you get a View Decision link, if it's

1) You have been accepted (well... you're in, duh)
2) Your decision is coming in the mail (Rejection - my roommate got his last week)

If your WA doesn't update with a View Decision link, it means deferral because there's no official "decision".

This applies to like almost everyone that's been through CC so far, I personally haven't seen, or heard of anyone getting anything other than those, I guess in certain circumstances it doesn't?

i would love to know how many times i've checked WA since i applied 8 freakin' months ago. i'm pretty sure that when a "view decision" link does finally come up i'm gonna have a heart attack.

Carnegie, everyone got that link. It only applies to inernational students, and it is about their Visa I think.

Ok..so I don't have a "view decision" link. From the way things are going, I can't tell if that's good or bad. Maybe Michigan is being awsome and surprising all the people who got accepted by NOT updating their WA! And sending them a packet in the mail! That's more exciting than checking on WA anyway! Woot! ....Ok I'm one of those really hopeful people. God will lead me to where I'm supposed to go..just hope it's Michigan. >_>

Ok, so the last decisions will be released tommorow. Not sure when we will all find out, but Midgets, Flong, I've been in the same boat as you guys (and reading your posts) for months. I hope all 3 of us get in! Good luck everyone!

Has anyone gotten a accepted screen on their "View Decision" link yet?

I have the dreaded "Your decision will arrive in the mail."

Can anyone clear this up with 100% positivity? So far I have heard someone getting a waitlisted screen, a mail arrival screen, and a rejection screen. Why would they pick a few people to update to a rejection screen? Are you confused with non deferrals? I think someone shot into a crowd of birds and everyone is running around in circles.

I believe all acceptances are shown on WA in the "View Decision" link. It gives one the opportunity to accept admission online, so it would make sense that anything else would not be an acceptance.

From other threads, I have heard the deferrals will NOT hear their decisions online, but only in mail. Is there any solid proof any deferrals getting a concrete decision on their application via WA?

It would be just as easy for them to tell you that you were rejected online, and it would save them money to boot.

I'm like 99.9% positive that when you get a "A Decision is arriving in the mail" it's a rejection

A deferral, nothing will change on the WA because it's not an official decision like Rejection and Acceptances are

There is no proof on this other than what other people have said because... seriously, who's gonna publish proof on how U-M releases their apps?

yeah i still haven't gotten any "view decision" link ...however, the other day not only did the international link show up (that everyone else got) but also a few links such as "parent/family authorization" and "view financial aid award status" and such...do you guys who have not found out yet have those links on your wolverine page too?

^ Sorry to burst your bubble, but I received those too as an international.

And when I checked the WA today, there was a View Decision link. It says "A decision will be arriving in the mail.", which pretty much means a rejection.

I think this thread makes it totally clear that no one knows exactly what UM's up to at this point.

My own TOTAL GUESS: As of the last day or two they've stopped rendering decisions online. Instead, they're disposing of the last open apps and as those decisions are made, they put up the "decision's in the mail" link on WA for that person. So those who have gotten the "decision's in the mail" link will hear by mail very soon, and the decision could be anything ... A, R or WL. By tomorrow or Monday they'll be done and everyone will have the "decision's in the mail" link, with a letter coming that could be A, R or WL.

But at this point you've gotta think most are R or WL.

Why the switch to mail notification rather than WA? Again, TOTAL GUESS: The last batch of apps is huge, and heavy on R's and WL's, and if they put up all those R's and WL's online en masse, they'll get a surge of phone calls that will literally knock out their systems and make life hell for the staff. At least with mail notification, the calls will come in in dribs and drabs.
