<p>A2Wolves isn't exactly right -- Michigan does give weight to the essay and respects it; while the GPA is always the top criterion, no matter the school, the essays for Michigan will "make it or break it" for a candidate.</p>

<p>Michigan doesn't care about the essays. I've known kids who got feedback from other universities about how great their essay was, and it didn't help them at all at UMich. What you have is good enough, it's your GPA that will get you in or not.</p>
