Also, I have a question for you guys - I’m a chem eng freshman at a community college in Michigan - and the only math completed so far is Trig. I have a great grade in Calc I , and I stated in my app that I’m taking Calc II over the summer. I’d really love for Michigan to see my current grades, as I think it would prove I can handle the more advanced maths. Should I reach out to admissions and ask if I can send them over? Or should I just let it be and trust that they’ll ask for them if it’ll make a difference in their decision?
That’s a really good question. I hope someone else has the answer, since I don’t. I think your question is very valid though and it couldn’t hurt to email the same thing to UMich.
I would send them a midterm report. The new one from the common app you are able to fill out yourself. I would use the old one where your professor fill it out, leaves a comment and signs it. When I did, it was basically a bonus recommendation letter and I think really helped my application.
I’ve asked admissions officers. Include your name and date of birth in the topic line if you email them the midyear report. Email address is ecredentials@umich.edu.
Hi guys! Did anyone studying in PA receive the decision? I guess they’re viewing applications based on location.
where did you all find the update term button??? I have never seen it on my enrollment connect
hi, how do you know they’re doing it based on location?
This week there were mainly students from MA & NY & NJ that received their decision. There could be bias from my observation but all the kids from my school didn’t receive anything as well.
ohhh I didn’t know that’s where the kids were from. I’m in NY so I’m scared now LOLL. thanks for letting me know!!
I know that many kids from Brandeis/U of R/NEU received their decision yesterday. Good luck, the best is yet to come!
Rejected, but asked to apply in the next term because I don’t have enough credits to transfer. I submitted my application on Feb 2 and the checklist was completed on that day I think.
- High school GPA: unweighted 4.0 (valedictorian). Our school doesn’t offer AP courses so I have to self-study 3 APs and get 5 on all of them.
- Math-CS major at my current institute but applied Sociology at LSA as a transfer.
- College GPA (a top 35 university): 4.0
- Very strong 20+ ECs and 10+ national & international prizes
- Great recommendations from 5 recommenders and excellent essays.
- SAT: 1480 (700, 780)
- Applied in the first year but deferred.
- International student.
- Credits: 40 (including APs). I have taken several elective courses so they may not be transferable.
That’s a heart-broken moment, but wish anyone the best of luck. Anyone who believes can succeed. I’ll update the term following their instructions.
For those who wonder about the term update option, you need to enter your portal and click “view” under “application.” Then, click “verify application answers” and scroll down. You’ll see “request to update U-M college or term.”
Rejected
High School GPA: 3.99/4.0 UW; College GPA: 4.0 (TOP 30); AP: 555554; got waitlisted last year as first year applicant
I’m shocked at these decisions. You guys seemed like very qualified applicants, good luck in the future!! <3
I mean, I’ve had that button since the first days of my application being in, I don’t think i’ve ever not seen it be there. Still haven’t received a decision yet either…
Sorry to hear that. What school are you applying? Did you apply LAS?
Hi. I applied LSA.
Man. I was so nervous right now. Seems like a lot of rejections comes out these days.
I’ve found that button disappear in this afternoon. In an hour, the decision became available.
It’s true that LSA prefers applicants with more credits.
Thanks you! Wish you the best of luck!
