I have aps and dual credits so I have 3 more general education classes for my current university by the end of the semester.

I’m so happy for you!

also keep in mind that art and design requires art portfolio and it is a significant chunk of the admission process, so it is a very different story from LSA/CoE.

Aw thank you for always being so kind and supportive, I am sure you will get in next term! You are a very qualified student in both academics and characteristics :))

I got an email from an admissions director on Thursday asking about summer courses. He wanted to let me know 1 wasn’t necessary, but 2 needed to be taken. He helped me find one of them and just told me he needed an email confirming my plan for this summer. All of this happened on Thursday, but I obviously haven’t gotten an official decision yet. Your guys’ thoughts? Now that they’ve reached out to me I can’t get Michigan out of my head lol (excited to watch tonight’s game though!)

I’m going back and forth between 1. they want to admit me and just want to ensure I’ll have prereqs completed… and 2. they can’t review my app until they’re sure prereqs will be completed by the fall

Imo if they’re asking you about taking Summer courses then they do want to admit you, but, as you said, ensure that you’re aware that you’ll have to complete the pre-reqs. Obviously I have no idea, but I would take it as a slight positive (but with a grain of salt).

Hello, I got accepted too. Can we connect?

Appreciate the response. Thank you! When I was first emailed, I jumped out of my chair with excitement… but the fact that I didn’t hear back on Friday is putting doubt in my mind.

Hi. How many credits do you have?

Go to a community college in MI - completed 12, have 13 In-progress… probably have around 15 credits in AP’s. I had stated in my app that I was taking Calc II over the summer, and the officer just wanted to make sure I take physics as well. I applied CoE Chem Eng

I’m in a similar boat with having to take a prerequisite over the summer (for me, it’s just Chem II). I already stated in my application that I am taking it this summer so I am not surprised that they haven’t contacted me. But, I would love to hear about your admission decision because you are the only person I’ve seen that also is applying before they’ve officially completed all of the prerequisites.

I’ll be sure to post here as soon as I find out :)… have hope that it’ll be before Wednesday of this week - and right back at you… also the first summer prereqs person I’ve seen on here.

Good luck to you! Also, not sure if you saw some of my earlier posts, but I have heard from admissions that the CoE does not evaluate based on credits, so taking classes in the summer should not affect us. I also had a few meetings with David Betts, who is the assistant director of admissions at UMich. He told me that plenty of people will be applying without all of the prerequisites completed and he reiterated that it wouldn’t affect anything. I can’t remember what he said verbatim but I recall him also saying that completing prerequisites over the summer is perfectly fine. Just thought I’d share some of that with you in case you didn’t know.

Side note: we are not in the same program, so we are technically not competing, right? And I’ll keep you posted on my results. I also hope I hear back sometime this week.

I hope not! To be honest, I have no clue how admissions work. Thanks for the details, makes me alot less worried.

Good luck to you as well!

On the CSS financial aid webpage it says all financial aid packages will be released by 3/31/22, does that mean all other decisions will be out by then too? I’m hoping so, I submitted my application November 18 (checklist done 12/22, LSA, 50 credits) and am anxiously waiting.

My withdrawl button just disappeared, so nervous :grimacing:
