So I read on these boards that two of people got acceptance letters via e-mail/Wolverine Access recently. I just checked my Wolverine Access and it was recently updated to say I’d be getting my decision via mail within two weeks.
My question is this (and I guess it’s more for parents and students from previous years): does anyone actually get acceptance letters by the snail mail? If the decision’s been made why can’t they just put it on the website?
I guess I’m just wondering if I should have any hope here, or focus on my other options.

thank you for posting this, as it is im waiting for my letter from the february 1st auditions and the people who have been accepted from my audition date have gotten phone calls and emails and letters and I am extremely worried that that has negative connotations for me who has received nothing.
If anyone who knows could post an answer that would be great! thanks

My acceptance email came on Feb 26th and said I would be receiving a letter shortly. I have not received a letter as of today. My acceptance is also posted on my Wolverine access site. I auditioned on campus Feb 8th.

I had the same experience as bunch - I got an e-mail on February 26 and my Wolverine Access page also has my acceptance posted. I auditioned at the Chicago Unifieds on February 5.

This is a question to people who have been accepted at Michgan for MT. Did any of you first see a View Decision link on Wolverineaccess with a box containing a sentence that said that you would receive a decision letter in the mail within two weeks. Did you see this message BEFORE receiving the email that indicated that you were accepted. The point here is to try to understand whether this message implies that the recipient will not be accepted.

To all those of you who are waiting, please know that is very likely that UMich (like CCM) just sends a few emails to those they know they want for sure, and that at the same time they hold some people in their "possibly" file folder.

And so until you receive something in writing that you are out, consider yourselves in the running :).

I hadn't checked my Wolverine access account for 4 or 5 days before I got the email so I can't say for sure. I wish the best for all of you.

I actually didn't receive an email or a call, just a letter that said that I had been accepted. I don't know if that's because I am an acting major or maybe because I'm a transfer. I auditioned on February 3rd at the NYC unifieds.

How do you check Wolverine access?

Thanks and good luck everyone!

Same as bunch - I didn't check my Wolverine Access till after I got the e-mail. I have heard from a few kids who were deferred that their "view decision" link had the letter has been sent/two weeks thing (and stayed that way until they got letters, I believe, telling them they were deferred). Good luck everyone!

Thank you for creating this thread because i am in the same situation. My status just changed this weekend and i have no idea what to make of it.

How many others are out there that auditioned as long ago as January 25th that have still heard NOTHING from Michigan?

Seriously, my D auditioned on the 25th, and we've had no response at all so far. Not even any status change on Wolverine Access. I know of at least one other, Jacksdad's S, who is in the same situation. At the information meeting that day, they told us we should hear something within 3-4 weeks. We are now in our 6th week of waiting! If we'd though it would be 6 weeks, it wouldn't be so bad. However, it's the unmet expectation that's so difficult to deal with!

Did anyone else out there audition a long time ago that hasn't gotten any response yet?

Consider it good news -- that your kid is still in the running -- if you have not heard anything. ;)

There's a part of me that would like to think that's possible, but the other part wonders if they sent out the rejection letter two weeks ago and it got stuck in one of those stacks of junk mail/grocery store ads and was thrown out before we ever even saw it! Seriously, do you all carefully look through those junk mail stacks FAR more carefully than you ever did before?!

I would imagine if they sent out a rejection notice that long ago that it would show up on your Wolverine access page. Also, if something was sent it would say so on the site. Have you called to see what the hold-up is? I would be going crazy as well.

im in the EXACT SAME SITUATION!
i auditioned for u mich on february 1st! and i still have heard nothing!
people from my audition have ben accepted and rejected
and i have heard nothing! i check wolverine access all of the time nothing happens
i haven't even gotten a two week notice
does anyone know what this means AT all?

If you haven't heard anything yet, then you are still in the running and so that is a very nice place to be. Some schools, like UMich, accept and deny some as they go along, as well as hold onto some until all auditions are completed and they make their final decisions to complete the rest of the class. So, if you are still not hearing, you are still being considered (in terms of how UMich does things.......not necessarily true at schools where everyone hears at the end at one time).

D received her rejection letter yesterday. She auditioned Jan. 25th. Best of luck to all of you still waiting.

what i know based on friends..

if you have a "view decision" link in your wolverine access that states a decision will be mailed to you within 2 weeks, this most likely means you have been rejected.

some of my friends had NO view decision link and received letters stating they were deferred.

some of my friends that were accepted told me it plays the Michigan fight song and states that they have been accepted. Some have even been called.

Hope i helped!

Well, as I've posted previously, we've been anxiously awaiting a response from Michigan since my daughter's audition on January 25th -- 6 weeks ago today. We finally got a bit of news today!

She received a letter today from Michigan letting her know that she is still being considered, and that they are holding her file until the final auditions have been completed before they make a final decision. To us, this is fantastic news! She was thrilled just to know that she's still in the running for a spot there, even though there's no guarantee.

The letter was very kind and encouraging (that's one of the reasons we love Michigan!), and told her to hang in there for a couple of weeks. They said that they'd make their final decisions by April 1st.

And for reference sake, her Wolverine Access hasn't shown any change or new links yet. We're keeping our fingers crossed!

i just got the same letter and im SO nervous now
its so close but I'm just glad to still be in the running. One thing I wonder though, how many people on average do they take into consideration and "hold their file" ?
just so I can know exactly where I am because right now I'm not sure whether to celebrate or mourn.
good luck to your daughter and hopefully we end up in michigan together!
