UMich or Boston College

Looking for advice on College Choice

Was accepted to UMich and waiting on BC. Feel my chances are good for BC. I am looking to get into
the business school at either college. I know UMich
has a great business program however, it is in Michigan.

I live in NY and was wondering how to narrow this question
down.

Thanks and hope to hear from all!

Wait until your acceptances come in and financial aid awards have been offered. The decision will become much clearer for you at that point, hopefully.

slider,
There have been several threads on this comparison, including the one below which inspired some rather heated discussion. Perhaps you will find some useful comments therein:

Did you get a PA into Ross, or will you be applying after your freshman year?

I will be applying to Ross in Freshman year. I was hoping they would consider me now. Are you at U Mich? If so, are you in the business school?

I am planning to visit in the next couple of weeks for campus day. I plan to attend the business school during the campus day.

If you have any advice please share. I am looking into the housing locations as well and if you have any recommendations, please let me know.

Slider, I am glad you are visiting the Michigan campus. If admitted into BC, you should also visit their campus. Whem comparing two universities of roughly equal quality, it is always best to fall back on the most important of all criteria; fit. Where do you feel most "at home".

Although the new Ross Building is not yet complete, it will be completed by the time you start your studies at Ross. From what I hear, the new Ross building is going to be out of this world.

As for things to do in Ann Arbor, definitely walk around State Street and South University Street. Also check out Liberty and Main Streets. Obviously, you want to walk around campus and also walk into some lectures to see the atmosphere. Dorms at Michigan are pretty decent, check out South and West quads as well as dorms on "the Hill".

Although I did not attend the B-school, I know my way around Michigan, so feel free to PM me if you have more questions.
