Maybe time to put a hold on all the football bragging..;). Wonder how long this Northwestern streak will last.

Would like to see NU beat OSU

I see the moderators wisely moved this thread out of the main forum site. Michigan fans have not been bragging about their football team for quite some time Blah. Stanford could only dream of having the history and tradition of Michigan football.

LOL, Blah. Michigan is 4-0 and ranked in the top 20 in both major polls, with a team comprised largely of talented but green first- and second-year players and extremely talented recruiting classes in the pipeline. The school and its football program have national name recognition that few can match, and one of the largest and most loyal fan bases in the college game. And football brings tons of revenue into the school’s athletic department, making it one of the few in college athletics at any level that pays its own way. I daresay the vast majority of college football programs would find that an enviable position.

I do love football threads! ;)

Blah2009, I realize your thread was tongue-in-cheek, but as rjk pointed out, you won’t find many Michigan students/alums bragging about the current state of the football program. The Notre Dame win was nice, but we have dominated them of late, so I am not sure that’s anything worth noting.

Many of us are optimistic, but there has been little to brag about. The 2011 season was solid by Michigan standards, but the the three years leading up to it were horrible and have taken their toll on the program. It will take a couple of years, but Michigan should be back to its usual dominant self in 2015…perhaps even sooner.

I think Lame Kitten said it best, “Nobody remembers the score.”
