Umich Ross vs. Georgetown MSB

I have been admitted to umich (not Ross pre-admit) and I plan to apply to Ross for second year; however, I have also been admitted to Georgetown MSB. I am kinda stuck in the middle between these two schools..so I have just a few general questions, Which school is better and why? I know Ross is ranked higher, but does that really matter? And which school has better connections to Wall Street?

I don’t have hard facts on hand, but I’m pretty sure Ross is more of a target school than GT, which means more internship and full time opportunities.

In terms of education, you will probably learn similar things at both institutions.

Do not worry too much about getting into Ross. During your freshmen year, just stay on top of class material, do meaningful extracurriculars, and start early on your admissions essays.

They’re both about equally well recruited. I would go with the sure thing-which in this case is Georgetown.

For what its worth, D took (regular freshmen) classes at Georgetown as a high school senior. Although she was considering applying to Georgetown, she did not like the vibe there so she did not apply. She is now at Michigan and absolutely loves it there.

BTW, Goldenboy is a Duke student, who for some reason, has seemed to make it his life’s mission to ensure that noone ever goes to Michigan. Maybe someone from the university ran over his puppy when he was little. I would not put too much stock in his posts.

For some strange reason, Goldenboy has toned down the commentary over the last week or so. I can’t fault his logic on this one. If the OP likes the vibe at Georgetown, then the sure thing is something to consider. On the other hand, if OP was admitted to GT then chances of Ross admission should be decent and I would give the edge to Ross. Vibe is something to consider as well.

Vibe on campus and vibe at Ross. Ross’ action-based learning can be quite different.

Thank you all for the feedback, this is a tough decision :/

It is a tough one Robert. Best of luck to your whichever way you decide. :-)
