UMich Scheduling/Backpacking HELP!

Hi all,
I am an incoming freshman at the University of Michigan. I have backpacked my perfect schedule, however, my orientation date is mid-July. One or two of my classes have around 10 seats left and are classes that I know will fill up quickly if I do not register soon. The website says I cannot register until my orientation date, however, I am definite about the schedule that I need to take (for my major). Does anyone have advice on what I should do?

Wolverine Access won’t let you register until your orientation, there’s no getting around this. Most people probably won’t get their first choice schedule so you’re gonna want to leave yourself options and try to be flexible. Hopefully you can still get the classes you want, but that would be my best advice.

Most people’s schedules fall to pieces once they get to orientation and find out that some of the classes they want or need are full. The good news is you are only a freshman and have a lot of time to take those courses you need. Also, once you register you can add and drop courses throughout the summer. People are always modifying their schedules so if you keep on checking (I know it is a pain) you may find a spot opens up in a class you need. Go luck and GO BLUE!

thanks for the help. just so annoying and frustrating when some classes required for a concentration conflict with other class times, and i made this perfect schedule but i guess i’m just going to have to hope for the best  thanks again
