i know there are other threads that ask this, but none seem to have the answer. also, the michigan website doesnt seem to either.

i am oos and interested in going to michigan. i know they give the shipman's scholarship and others to highly qualified applicants, but i was wondering if they have certain cut offs for these scholarships based on gpa and sat. i know many state schools give money based on scores, but does michigan look at more than just numbers for thier top scholarships?

there are no cutoffs. It says that they primarily look at numbers for Shipman, but I don't believe that. I think that they have to look at more than just numbers. But I think to be competitive for a shipman or the like, you would need at least a 2200 on your SAT and a 3.8 UW GPA.

There aren't numerical cutoffs like maguo says. If shipman is want you want to win I'd really concentrate on essays and how you develop your application. This isn't the only one though, there are many scholarship opportunities, some given by departments, other for special programs. Investigate! the website does have some information on each altough it's pretty vague in general.
