UMich Transfer Chances?!?

I was curious as to what my chances would be for transferring to the University of Michigan. I am currently a 1st year student at Virginia Tech, and am enrolled in the College of Engineering. I have found that Engineering is not for me---not to say that I'm "failing out" because Im actually doing quite well--I made the Dean's List last semester
Here are some of my stats..

-High School GPA: 3.81
-Top 10% of Class
-SAT: 1120, 600M 520V ---Let me know if you think that I HAVE to retake them again....I took them during my 11th grade year..and never took them again. I am POSITIVE that I could do better, but am wondering if I can get in without a retake.
-College GPA @ Virginia Tech: 3.44
Resident of Maryland

-Also, in high school I had a TON of EC's....including..Varsity Soccer 4years, All-Academic A Team 2years, Tons of volunteering, food pantry at church, Engineering Internship at Reagan Naitonal Airport, SGA, FBLA, FCA--President, ect.

I would appreciate some feedback....Its a pretty stressful time right now just trying to decide what I want to do....I figure that UMich is a wonderful place to do that. Please let me know if you think that I even have a remote chance.

i personally think u shud DEFINITELY retake them...u have slim chances with an 1120 with michigan esp cause ur out of state and transfer.

you prolly need to retake em.
but u will have no problem w/ MSU.

Before you retake them, I'd check with the transfer advisor at U-M. I think what's more important is that you have a semester or more of college work under your belt.

Standardized tests just help colleges guess how you might handle college work. With a transfer student, they don't need to guess--they've got the evidence from your transcript and GPA.

I agree with Hoedown. Besdies, Michigan is not big on SATs/ACTs. GPA and proven academic track record are far more important.
