Umich Transfer Thread: Winter 2018

I do notice some people lying on this thread. So only serious people please.

No news here @UMICH62826281827 . Why do you think people are being dishonest ?

Hi guys, so I’m also waiting for this long miserable process.

I submit mine at June. I was denied for 2017 fall as I wasn’t able to submit my HS transcript.

What’s funny is this happens in 2016 Fall transfer too. So they deny me for 2 times.

I don’t know why but they don’t accept my HS transcript via mail.

After I received e-mail from U-mich which asks me to re-apply for winter 2018, I re-apply.

HS 2.8 / Top 60 College GPA 3.88 / ACT 30 / 6 recommendation letters LoL , with 60 credits

I’m still waiting and consider myself as denied because it takes too long time haha. They reject me 3 times!

I have a little hope because below my financial aid tap

  1. F aid award summary 2) F aid award notices 3) My scholarship profile taps pop up LoL

Even though, I didn’t apply for any of them.

I try to convince myself that this is a good news

Anyway, good luck for everyone!!

I’m pretty sure we’ll get decision within 2 weeks

still nothing

@umichdoit hang in there! A couple hours before getting my decision on WA, there was a blue hyperlink under “aid year” for my financial aid. Clicking on it opens a new page with a bunch of tabs on top. Seems like financial aid jumps the gun a little with revealing decisions.

@espope where did you see this hyper link? Do you click on one of the other aid links before you see that one? Want to see if mine is there!

@UMICH62826281827 Under the general financial aid tab, I clicked “View Financial Aid Award Summary”. That took me to a page where I found that “Aid Year” had a clickable “2018” beneath it which took me to a new page that shows me my financial aid awards. This was all before I got my decision on WA(which was about 6 hours later).

I can see the same things on my WA as you described.@espope

I dont have any revealing clues to look at as an international student, which makes me stress out

Did you check “yes” for financial aid on your app? I did not and I’m assuming that’s why I don’t see that link. However I do see an “aid year” and then 2019 under it in the “financial aid award notices” link.

@umich0419 @espope

@Mantha3993 I don’t recall what I checked on my app, but I don’t think I was able to click on the year until a couple hours before receiving my decision.

Hey, all! I was accepted on this beautiful November evening (morning?). I could not be more overjoyed. My stats weren’t the best; a 3.6 isn’t the best grade-point average. But I have a good deal of faith that if I’ve managed it, most of you will too. Hope to see you all in Ann Arbor in January.

Just got accepted to LSA!

@JavaJoe you have Taylor Shrapnell as your counselor, right? Congratulations!!! I’m so happy for you both! Who is your counselor @umich0419 ??

Sarah Watkins

Congrats to you both and Im in the same boat as you UMICH6282. I heard from my admission counselor last saturday and he said I cud be waiting at least another 4 weeks. But he did say that most people should have their decisions before the end of this month. Only problem as a transfer is that it doesn’t leave us a lot of time to enroll, select courses, get housing ( the hardest part with later enrollments) and get there -for those admitted. Best of luck and I hope you get a positive decision soon.

@dwane1 the enrollment fee is due on December 1st. Don’t think that they would take past that date to send acceptance letters.

Actually last Winter someone got the acceptance email on Dec 21st

@navvan10s that is not only way past the enrollment fee due date, but also every single mandatory transfer orientation date as well. Highly unlikely, buddy. If that was the case, the school would have to reorganize everything for those small select students. Besides, that gives the student less than two weeks to pay enrollment fee, get accepted for an apartment, move all your personal belongings out there (which would take way longer if out of state), complete all mandatory test, go to some meeting to supplement the mandatory transfer orientation. Not to mention this is all happening exactly in the middle of two of the biggest holidays of the entire year. (Christmas and New Years) Not to mention registering for classes or even see which credits do transfer, financial aid and more.
