Umich Transfer Thread: Winter 2018

@jdance Have a friend who got accepted into Engineering yesterday from Dearborn. :v

I’m got into LSA (Pol Sci as my major) with a 3.77 CGPA. Don’t fret guys, they don’t just look at your stats! Believe in yourself. All the best

I called today and they said they reviewed mine and it should be updated on wolverine access soon. Hopefully it won’t take too much longer.

I got accepted on Wednesday morning and my admission counselor is still away from her office. This is my second time to apply as a international transfer student. I’m from a top 60 university, and my GPA is 3.83.

I got accepted this afternoon, with GPA 3.89, out-state, applied on Sept.22, counselor is Bryan Seitz, major in LSA. Hope that helps and everyone here can get acceptance.

Me too an international student submitting on 1st Oct, but not yet received offer. May I ask your major? Thanks!

Hello, everyone! My counselor was Reuben Kapp and I applied as an economics major from UM Dearborn with a 3.44 GPA. Got accepted today morning! Good luck to all of you!

Hey guys, specifically opened this account to be updated. I applied September 26th and have been waiting. I am a transfer student from a community college. I am a sophomore with 33 credits completed, with 14 in progress and a 3.9 GPA. In the summer of 2017, I did Undergraduate Research for U of M for 3 months. So I thought this would help me. Did you guys receive decisions?

@rishisp I’m suprised you got in already with a 3.44 GPA. Do you have any other qualifications we should know about?

@Abigaillaine Sort of! I was dancing with a ballet company the last two years and took one online class with University of Florida. They said I should apply as a transfer even though I only have that one class (3 credits). High school stats are good, probably not Michigan level, but I have a 4.0 in the UF class. Applied mid-september and still waiting. Fingers crossed for you!!

@DetroitFan81 3.44 is actually a respectable gpa, especially if you are taking rigorous courses. Congrats to you @riship !

I meant @rishisp - couldn’t edit it

@ConcrndMom I wasn’t saying it’s not a good GPA. However it is lower than the average for transfer students.

@DetroitFan81 @ConcrndMom I was a double major in Economics and Finance at Dearborn, and I applied with 43 transferrable credits. Also, during my senior year in high school, I was able to start up a small coffee shop which employed special ed students and now it makes a donation of $60k a year and is still going strong. I was thinking this played a huge role. Plus, I had my essays reviewed by a kids at Harvard and Yale. I don’t know if that is special.

@rishisp that may have played a role. It is very impressive.

Hey all, just got admitted this morning!!!
Gpa 3.76
70 credits with an associates
Counselor is Norwood
Good Luck!!

@Wolverinewinter18 thats amazing!!! Congrats, so happy for you!!!

Has anyone heard anything that has Taylor Sharpnell as their counselor?? I called and they said my application was complete and ready for review on Sept. 25th and I still have heard nothing back. I have not seen one person on all 9 pages get accepted with Taylor Sharpnell so If you have the same counselor please speak up and let me know!!

I’m right there with you, friend. I’d bet mine’s been under review for a while but I’ve not heard anything back yet. I emailed Taylor Shrapnell on the sixteenth and she said was appocation was complete, so I’m getting a tad antsy.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone received an email stating that their application is incomplete? If so, have you been able to resolve the issue?
