UMich, UT-Austin, Cornell, UC-Berkeley... how do they compare...

I noticed that UT-Austin is rather low in most rankings.... but so far that ive heard... UT-Austin is a very good school, as prestigious as any ive listed above.. please comment.

thx for replies in advance

All three of those are generally considered more prestigious. When it gets to the level that all four of these schools are on, it really comes down to the programs you want and what you want to get out of school. It's impossible to say "Cornell is better than UT-Austin" because they offer remarkably different experiences with their high levels of education.

I've looked into all of these schools because of their engineering programs and they are all top ten programs so for engineering there all great, but it's almost impossible to compare UC and Ivy league schools to schools like UMich and UT. If i had to choose one i would definetely go with Texas just because of the great enviroment in Austin.

Ahh ok... i was actually planning on texas too, I am international and the tuition fees would save me a few bucks :D

Im in Cali, and for me, going to a UC is about the same price as UT, but the UCs dont have finance. So it looks like Im headin to UT. Yeeeehaaa.

Haha... if i get accepted in UT and got rejected from harvey mudd and umich... ill see you there tripperian35.. lol

What makes umich so expensive compared to UT? It's just a state school isnt it?

They want more money from OOS students! Helps pay for the in-staters.

The fee for in-states at umich is still very expensive compared to other public schools... i think the most expensive out of all publics if im correct

It's about $500 more expensive than Ohio State.

Thats for in-staters too.

but umich is also more expensive than UC-Berkeley, UI-Urbana, UT-Austin, and most of the top public schools

Ya but I was just saying that it isnt much more expensive than OSU.
