Hey,
I’ve narrowed down my college choices to the University of Michigan and Emory University and I’m having trouble deciding between the two. I visited both schools and liked both campuses equally. I plan on going to medical school so a good premed program would be a plus. Can I get some opinions on each schools academic rigor, social life, and overall quality of life? Thanks for any input

EMORY is the better school for pre-med. In Atlanta, so you never run out of things to do or people to meet. also, there are other schools in the area so there are lots of college kids in the city. people are really nice & friendly. I dunno about pre-med majors, but the difficulty of the courses depends on what you're planning to do. Like, I heard the business school is pretty tough to do well in. the food wasn't that good (to me). seemed like a top-notch research university. most people there seemed pretty satisfied.

Emory also has wonderful internship and research opportunities. Emory Hospital and the Atlanta Childrens' Hospital are right on campus, as are the CDC and the Red Cross. The Carter Center (also on campus) does a lot of medical outreach in 3d world countries. In addition, Emory's classes are a lot smaller and more personal than Michigan's and so students get to know professors a lot better, resulting in a lot more research and lab opportunities.
