UMich vs. UMN

I am a senior in high school, interested in aerospace engineering. Both UMich and UMN have great programs for aero, but I like Michigan's better, and I really loved the campus/town/general feel of mighigan more than my experiences with minnesota. I am a minnesota resident, so UMN will obviously be a lot cheaper. I will most likely get in to both schools, but I probably won't receive scholarship money from UMich or financial aid from either school.
My parents are very generous, and are willing to not only pay for my college education, but also give me the left over money from my college savings account once I leave college. The money in the account is enough to get me through either school, but I would be paying up to twice as much at UMich. Like I said, Umich is basically my dream school, but UMN isn't exactly bad. Which school would you choose?

Do you plan to – or believe you might – attend graduate or professional school? If so, the amount of parental funds remaining may well be especially important.

Yes, I would hope to pursue a masters degree. Michigan has a 5 years masters plan for engineering that seems pretty great, however.

@astro2015: A five-year BS/MS from Michigan would be VERY difficult to beat, considering both the University’s and the Aero Department’s excellent, deserved, and longstanding reputations. I say this as a 40+ year major tactical aviation program official (Navy and Lockheed Martin).

However, $120,000 to help you get started with your post-graduation life and career is not a bad thing to have.

Also, does UW-Madison have an aerospace program? You would be in-state there.

Mo believe so, but it isn’t as good as the programs at UMich or UMN and I like them better than Madison anyways. The only other school that I am applying to is CU Boulder, but that just depends on scholarships and stuff so I don’t know what I would be paying there. And as I said before, I am much more interested in going to UMich than anywhere else.
