did anyone receive any notice from UMICH it about a "prelimnary and comprehensive" review yet?

No. My application is complete, but I do not see any statements concerning a comprehensive review.

Somehow I got an awkward letter in the mail which somewhat resembled a wait list letter..

they said that they completed a "preliminary and comprehensive review" and could not make a decision and will get back to me in april.

I applied to LSA btw..
the letter makes no sense because.. the deadline was march 1.

when are we suppose to officially hear from UMich?

I have a feeling that they mixed me up with regular admissions...

Before I opened this thread, I assumed you were applying to Ross. Why didn't you AG?

I'm a freshman.

Oh yeah... forgot about that.

so.. did anyone else receive anything>

I did not receive anything yet, but I am hoping to recieve an answer next week. On their website they do not address the timeline for transfer admissions responses, but they state that all completed files will receive a response during the first week of April. I am hoping that includes transfer students. Good luck.

Not official yet!

You're just jealous because YOU'RE not working for president bush this summer.

hmm?

I just received a letter that states that UMich as made a preliminary review of my appplication for my admission to the LSA, but they need additional information. This upsets me for two reasons: 1) On Wolverine Access, my application is complete. 2) UMich is asking for a ninth grade transcript, but I do not have recorded grades for a ninth grade.

I suppose that means that my decision will be delayed from them by at least a week.

are we suppose to hear this early?

I don't know. On their website it doesn't say. However, when I read through their decisions timeline, which may have only been for freshmen, they state that all completed files will receive a decision during the first week of April. I could not find any information concerning decisions for transfer students.

You are working for Bush in the summer?

Alan, the only reason I would want to be anywhere near bush is to huck a spitwad at him.

I won't even respond to the above comment. Going to call UMich's office on monday. Let you guys know.

"Alan, the only reason I would want to be anywhere near bush is to huck a spitwad at him."
LOL. my initial reaction was "haha!" (mostly to the bush aspect, not really to Alan), my next reaction was "...just a spitwad?"

Applied to LSA and heard the same things as you guys did. I heard that they need to see how many students from the previously classes they retain, as the classes are a little large. The second someone hears something, please post!

I applied also to the LSA

I was a little unhappy at first because my high school sent them a transcript and they finally told me later that they didn't receive it

So I sent in another transcript and they didn't officially receive everything in total until March 25th

So now it's just the waiting game from here again... I don't like the sound of this... because the way it seems the only two options are defer/ reject. It was frustrating enough as it is being on Michigan's waitlist last year where I found out that they didn't take anyone at all off that waitlist because they overestimated their enrollment by about 1500 supposedly

I guess I'll post what my outcome is as soon as I hear

Found out today I'm rejected for the Fall 2005 term :-(

Says that it's possible to change my application to a later term

Looks like I might be trying again later... but this is the second time my application has been affected in some way from their oversized freshman and sophomore classes. First as a freshman on the waiting list... and now the transfer app

Anyone else hear from UMich yet?

they overenrolled by 900 for the class of 2008.. just fyi
they UNDERenrolled for the class of 2007

so it looks like.. 10 people or less will get in.
