@tito17 Congrats! Maybe we will meet up at one of the gatherings!
Does getting deferred basically mean you have no chance of getting scholarship if you are admitted later?
@ALLCAPS24 I’m not 100% sure, but I wouldn’t think that would be the case. I’m sure deferred applicants would still have a chance to be considered for some, if not all scholarships.
@David1129 But getting deferred basically means they need more time to look at your application and compare it with the rest. So why wouldn’t they just accept you EA and give you the scholarship then if you’re that qualified?
I hope I’m wrong though
@ALLCAPS24 I do hear that they defer a lot of over qualified applicants during early action. I wouldn’t give up hope. I wish the best for you in the coming months !
Anyone from Toronto Area intending to go to U of M? Can you PM me as I am from Toronto and would like to get your take on the school.
@ALLCAPS24 It’s also been stated that many students who got deferred may not have even had their application read because of the number of applicants
Any news on Ross decisions?
So even if you get deferred you are still in contention for some of the bigger scholarships?
@nelizm i haven’t heard anything but come tell this thread if you do! hopefully this week!
@ALLCAPS24 i believe so. there is a certain scholarship through u of m that everyone at my high school receives if they are admitted (we are a low income district), and it doesn’t matter if its EA or RD. by that logic, i don’t see why RD admits wouldn’t receive the bigger scholarships if the applicant meets the criteria.
Anyone know when LSA Honors comes back?
Honors notifications come out tomorrow. @yellyfamjaye
Is all the merit aid posted on wolverine in addition to being mailed? I recently moved and forgot to update UMich on my new address, so I’m worried that I may have missed merit scholarship notifications. Is all merit aid recorded in Wolverine?
Do we have to self report our first semester grades or do they just want end of year transcripts?
your counselor has to go in through common app and update your transcript. i’m not sure if it’s something that will happen anyway or if you have to ask your counselor to do it.
I am an admitted UMichigan student and my high school counselor uploaded my midterm report on the common app so it went out to all my schools, including UMichigan. @nannypoo
@David1129 I received a letter in the mail and a “Presidential Scholarship,” but after scouring the umich website I can’t find anything info. Have a received just a presidential scholarship or the Kessler presidential scholarship?
DD received notification today that she’s in Honors.
