UMichigan Ann Arbor EA Class of 2021 Applicants

@sarbull17 as it’s all relative, what do you define as not well?

@sarbull17 umich only looks at sat subject tests in how they benefit your application and will not penalize u for low scores since they are not required

jajajalol, LSA for politic science. Is it a hot major?

I really hope all the ED kids rescind applications otherwise I’m not even competitive against classmates.

Similar to someone else’s question, but regarding AP scores, sent it as my free choice, was sick when I took and it showed (2)… How much will this negatively impact my app?

this guy at my school got into harvard on tuesday and we r all still waiting for umich

@c011e9e i think ap scores don’t matter that much cuz its not even mentioned on the umich admissions website.

Girl from my school got into Harvard this week and rescinded UMich app because she was scared of getting rejected. Lol go figure, but hey one more spot for us guys!!

@Eeeee127 awesome! Thanks!

@Poeny2015 not sure what you mean by “hot,” but poli sci is a popular major at every school. That being said, UMich has one of the best in the nation–I have a number of amazing, accomplished friends doing great things in Poli Sci. Furthermore, depending on what you specific interests are, the Ford School of Public Policy is insanely well-respected, and a relatively common path for underclassmen who declare for Poli Sci in LSA.

@Poeny2015 If you’re worried about competition within a field, I think the major you list on your app matters little to none. The majority of students switch up from their freshman plans, and you don’t really ‘pick’ a major until junior year (when you finish the gen ed courses).

What school you picked matters though, as switching is harder and more rare, and you said LSA. You should be good given that

jajajalol, thank you so much.

Do EA decisions come out tomorrow? I have 32 ACT, 4,36 GPA, with 10+ AP classes, and I am a captain and MVP of my varsity soccer team. What are my Chances?

  1. Next Friday (Most likely) and 2) This isn’t a chance me thread. @sgballer14

Thank You @JPGator98

@sgballer14 There was speculation about EA decisions coming tomorrow based on previous years’ data, but recent info from numerous sources show that decisions will come next week most likely.

!!!Not a chance thread!!! But I think your chances are good based on what you gave IF you showed passion/interest in your recs/essays. Helps if you’re IS. UW GPA should be around ~3.8+ too. What you said is vague though, so

Yeah sorry about the chance thing, I’m new to this site

when we do get decisions, will they be posted on wolverine access w/out any email whatsoever, or will the decision be only on email…or will it be on both (so i know what to keep checking)

@ab2020 it will be updated on wolverine access first and then an email will be sent out with your decision in the email.

So, why are we all expecting decisions to come out next week rather than tomorrow?
