umichigan essays header help!

i know it's a bit late to be working on my essays but i've been getting some stuff straightened out...

anyways

i noticed that each umichigan essay upload field requires you to include your name, UM ID(I dont think i have one?) DOB and essay prompt text on each page

the problem is, when I preview the pdf printout, the essay is almost unreadable due to the presence of the headers

it will transition into something like

upon returning from geneva,

first name last name mm/dd/yyyy
Please tell us about a social issue

I learned a great deal about...

sometimes it's worse, there isnt even a space between "social issue" and "i learned a great deal about"

dont they know their own prompts?!
some upload slots only have one essay topic anyway

ugh

doesnt sound like a problem with their system sounds like you did something wrong with the headers…
edit: i also didnt really understand what you were trying to say towards the end if you could clear it up i could probably help because i did mine like a month ago

the problem is that instead of the greyed out letters that the header takes on in my word processor, the header looks like it’s part of the essay

it might confused the reader

Don’t put it in the header. Simply put it at the top of the essay.

but it says to include it on every page?

pdf… why not submit a word document?

it is a word doc, im saying when i preview the printout on the application, it is a pdf file

then try submitting a pdf…

Just put it on the top of the page, not in the header.

It doesn’t need to be on the top of every page in a word document, it will stay together as one doc (pdf or not) anyways.
