@mlover15 I’m from NC too–when’s your UMKC interview? Also, does anyone know when the optional tour of the undergrad campus is during the interview day?
@cheerioslover what r ur stats?
Thank you so much :') i will remember those words as i come across any challenge in the interview process or in life.
I wish the best of luck to you, too, @socalgirl. you have so much going for you, i’m sure you’ll find your right match and will be 110% happy.
@cheeriolover, @mlover, @medicine96, @desigirl23
can you all please share ur interview experience?
@cheerioslover. My interview is on Feb. 26 (Tuesday) and Feb. 27 (Wed.). When is yours?
@daisy111 Sure! I will be glad to.
@dualdoc Any other advice about the MMI, etc.? I am really nervous!!
I am feeling sad for the students who did not get in. Maybe better things ahead of you.
Happy for students who got in.
This is great forum to share personal experiences.
I am very motivated by courage , support and empathy for each other you all have. Mostly this world is wonderful place to be…
I haven’t heard anything yet, no email, no mail.
Should I be worried?
I’m at a hotel right now, waiting for the UMKC interview process tomorrow. I will let anyone who is interested know about the experience. Of course, I will not give the MMI scenarios away.
umedbro,
Thanks for interview inf, my D is coming tomorrow for interview, very anxious. What about today, just registration?
Hi My name is Connor, I go to LSHS, I just wanted to say Congratulations to everyone that got an interview!!!
I also got an interview! Mine is Tuesday, February 26, 2013 beginning at 6:00 pm through Wednesday, February 27, 2013 concluding at 4:30 pm.
Is anyone else interviewing then?
I sent in my name tag info and my lunch and guest count.
Did you guys hear anything back after that?
Yeah if you could share that would be cool. I’m going Feb. 5-6
Hi All! I’m a first year in the program, and I just wanted to say congratulations to all of you received interviews! I know that the interview process has changed since last year, but hopefully this will help!
I would almost guarantee one of the scenarios will be about cheating. After talking to other first years, I found that we all had questions about cheating in our interviews. I would also guess that another would be about being professional, or doing the right thing. I don’t know how many times we’ve had talks about professionalism. I’ve also heard that quite a few people last year were asked what they would do if becoming a doctor became out of the question.
Once again, these are only guesses.
I recommend coming up with a solid answer to the question “Tell me about yourself?” This question might not be asked word for word, but try to show UMKC that you are a well rounded and dedicated student. Make sure you use good eye contact, and I firm handshake. First impressions are very important. Be polite, kind, and don’t be nervous!! Take a deep breath when necessary and you will do just fine!!
@mlover15 Mine is on Sunday 24 and Monday the 25
@umedbro @desigirl23
it was nice meeting you guys haha. interview was pretty interesting
Yeah! Hopefully we will meet each other next fall Singh!
Hello all, the MMI interview process was different, yet more rewarding than the traditional format. None of the scenarios required any in-depth knowledge of the medical field or comprehension of medical ethics. They are broad questions to stimulate discussion about certain everyday situations, conflicts, and characterisitcs. Mainly, the interspersed are trying to gauge your level of interest in medicine and your general personal characteristics. Don’t stress about it and most importantly, BE YOURSELF! I promise you that you will enjoy the experience. I’m sorry I couldn’t be too specific but I don’t feel comfortable giving away too much especially since the UMKC staff kindly requested us not to spread too much information. @sh4msingh and @desigirl it was nice meeting you. I was shocked yet satisfied to see the face behind your Internet personas.
To all applicants, best of luck! Peace
*interviewers not interspersed…
why autocorrect? Why do you torture me?
Sounds like you had fun.
@UMedBro - My interview takes place from Feb 25-26, and I have some questions. The MMI is giving us 8 minutes to answer the prompt. Although there is no minimum amount of time that we need to be speaking, how long should we talk about the prompt? Will the interviewer ask us questions when we have finished talking? Finally, how easy/difficult was the chem placement test?
