Is it up to like the difficulty, of, like stanford?

How can anyone say that? Your best bet is to look at the stats of accepted international applicants for both schools, and then you might be able to say something such as "overall, this school accepts students with higher average this." It's tough- isn't that enough to know? Roll the di, and maybe you will get in. Good luck.

I know a bunch of people from singapore here.

no no, I'm just using stanford as a standard here. I heard UCB gives priority to instate applicants, therefore, its harder for internationals (form canada) to get in.

I'm asking, does this instate-favour make it VERY hard for canadians to get in?

It makes it very hard for anyone who isn't living in CA to get in.

it really depends.

an instate app can get in with a 1300. no such chance with out of state

you should be an outstanding student. you don't have to be as superhuman as you would for like stanford, but still a pretty good student.

It is also pretty hard for instate students to get in. Shocking, isn't it? Yeah, most students are rejected. Full stop. Most students don't get in. Can you dig it? It is harder for people out of state, and international, but most california residents don't get in, either. Understand this. Then talk about "relative to instate applicants, oos applicants have to be better students." But FIRST realize it isn't easy to get into in state. Perhaps easier than Chicago, or UPenn, or Northwestern, but the competition isn't easy.

Some oos applicants can get in with 1300, but their records have to be pretty solid otherwise. This is also the case with in states, but their applicants have to be a bit less solid.
