why do dentists have the highest suicide rate in the country?

i thought they would be happy- they get to fix peoples teeth and make them have pretty smiles, and they get paid alot. plus, its a pretty respectful job. so why is their potential for suicide just so high??

ps. i really want to be a dentist, but reading this kind of scared me.

Because every time they see crooked teeth or an underbite, they die a little on the inside. Eventually, the pressure proves to be too much, either that or they witness a British person smile, and they proceed to end their own misery.

They do have to have their hands in peoples mouths all day long, so I can’t say that the job is too attractive. Suicide still seems a tad excessive. Can you point me to the source of this?

^^ i guess so. i was looking at some other websites too, so i guess we really don’t know. but i just thought it would be people who worked in more dire situations or something.

I’ve heard Buffalo, NY is the most suicidal city, so if you’re a Dentist in Buffalo, you probably have a rope and a long strip of pole waiting for you in your garage.
